Our trip to Florida

Before Marcus sent in his applications for medical school, I said if you get an interview in Florida were taking a family trip!! Well he got an interview! The more we talked about it we thought maybe we should leave Cavin so it's a vacation! Traveling with a 15 month old isn't always easy. So we asked Toni, Marcus' mom if she wanted to watch him for 5 days and of corse she said yes! Who wouldn't want to watch a super cute boy!!
As the trip got closer and closer I was so excited but also questioning my decision!! Yes I wanted to spend 5 days with Marcus just him and me, yes I didn't want to fly 8 hours each way with a grumpy Cavin, and yes I was excited for a vacation to rest before my easy one child life became two kids and a husband in medical school busy as busy can be, but I was really missing my Cavin!!! Could I leave him for 5 days!!??? The day before we where supposed to leave, Cavin woke up sick.... Is this a sign I shouldn't go?? I took him to the doctor even though I normally wouldn't, unless he was real sick.  The doctor gave us some medicine and he was acting better after just a few hours! So I packed up my little guy and dropped him off at the Bruce's, I cried for a while and was really sad to leave him. Marcus is truly my best friend but he has been gone so much this past year, I have found I love being with cavin and he's my little buddy!!
I finally went home and got things squared away for our early morning flight!
We got up early Wednesday morning and flew to Florida! It was a long day of flying! We got to Florida about 4, so we got our rental car and headed to the beach!!! Marcus and I walked the beach and just couldn't believe where we where!! Not just the fact that we where in Florida but the long long road that has lead us here! Years of schools and studying and studying to get the good grades, dreaming, talking, and planning for medical school! Marcus has worked so hard and now we're here in Florida interviewing!!! Crazy! This was so far in the future for so long but now everything we talked about and planned is at our toes! We first got to Florida thinking this is sooo different from Utah , we couldn't imagine ever living here, but as the week went on we just kept saying what an adventure it would be! We finally went to the hotel and took a drive to the school, so we knew where to go in the morning and how long it would take! The campus looked great! Nova sharks!

We went back to our hotel and I got Marcus' suit and shirt all ready for him and when I came back Marcus was asleep, I thought it was just a little nap (sine it was just 7, 5 utaht time) so I watched tv and finally at 10 I woke Marcus to brush teeth and say our prayers!
We both slept good and got up early and Marcus got ready, and I drove him to his first medical school interview!
I thought I'd be a little nervous for him but I wasn't! I had this peace and confidence, that things would work out just as they where suppose to and knew everyone would love Marcus just as I did!
I went back to the hotel and landed down for a minute before I was going to get in the shower well I fell asleep for 2 hours!! It felt great! I had been sick for 2 weeks but as a mom you can't stop, so I think being pregnant sick and a busy mom, I was so tired but never let my self slow down til that morning!  It was a much needed, nap that I didn't feel guilty about!
I headed out shopping and exploring! I really liked the area and even found some places I'd want to live if we moved there!
After a long day waiting to hear about the interview finally at 3 I went to pick Marcus up!! I found him and told me all about it! It went great!
They started out by saying he has a very unique application, he wasn't sure what that meant, until the  lady said we're never seen someone that worked so many jobs! Then they asked how did you do it??! Marcus told them he had to, with a family and the demands of school he had to stay focused and work hard. They asked him some questions, and at the end told Marcus he is the most laid back, mellow guy they have ever meet! The lady even said you need to come by my office everyday and rub some of your calmness off on me! Marcus made them laugh and they seemed to really like him! Over Marcus said it went great and was super easy!
When I picked him up he said he'd be shocked if he didn't get in! They also gave him a tour of the Canopus and he got to talk with some of the other students, which was nice! He said some guys where so nervous and acting super weird, kind of funny! Over all Marcus said he would like the school and be happy there, he knows he'd get a good education and really liked some of the things the dean said about not letting his students fail but really helping them be successful!
After that we went to the next hotel on the beach checked in and went to the beach!! We walked around a bit and just enjoyed the day! We went out to dinner and totally got ripped off but whatever! We had fun anyways!
The next two days we spent at the beach!! Having a blast in the water snorkeling, swimming, and just relax on the beach!
We did go to the Alligator place to ride an airboat and see gators it was so cool!

We had a great time on our Vacation, we ate on the beach and had pie on the beach late at night, we walked along the beach! it was a trip We'll never forget!

The best part of the trip spending it with my best friend!  he will always make me laugh!
