Bruce Family: Our Move

Our move to West Virginia has been overall pretty smooth and great! One week ago today Marcus left early in the morning with the moving truck towing a car and his younger and older brother were driving a van. Cavin Stella and I stayed behind on Tuesday we played with Troy and Colby Anna it was a fun day it was sad to say goodbye and tears were shed. I got the final packing and cleaning up done so that Wednesday morning at 4 AM we got up to the airport. Cavin Stella where exhausted Cavin didn't sleep on the car down which I thought he would but he has been super nervous and aware of all the changes going on around him. My mom flew with me because a great help to have extra hands with all of our stuff and kids are flights went well no problems the kids were tired but overall they did a great job with only a couple little meltdowns.

We got to West Virginia around 4 o'clock that afternoon and Toni and jeff picked us up at the airport and took us to our new place it was so fun to see our new place in real life it was much like I expected but also some different things that I didn't know about which are all great surprises! Then we went to their house and got settled in for the night Cavin and stella and I had a ruff night with us all three of us ending up sleeping on the couch!

that Morning we got up really early and Cavin stayed with grandma Toni and my mom and Stella and I went to run some errands to get things set up for new place we got insurance and a few groceries and Marcus text me While I was grocery shopping and said they are coming into town! We missed Marcus so much the kids were having a hard time adjusting to all the change and I think they really could sense something dig was going on. So we went to the condo and met the boys there unloaded the truck in about an hour and we tried to get things kind of organized and some things unpacked and then went back to pick up Cavin and get dinner and bring him back home for our first night in our new place!

First night was really rough Cavin wouldn't go to bed so instead of fighting the two of them I took them downstairs and started unpacking boxes finally at 12 o'clock Cavin crash on the kitchen floor. Stella was still awake playing with spoons and cups!! Finally at 1 AM Stella decided she was tired so we put her to bed and got some sleep!!

Friday we spent most the day un packing and trying to get somethings organized! we went to Gabe's and got a bunch of rugs and things for the house. Marcus stayed home with Cavin and built two dressers for us!

That night we went to a little 4th of July get together of some people in our ward, it was so much fun to meet some people! we are so grateful for how kind and helpful everyone has been here to us!

That night was a total disaster!!! we got everyone ready for bed and spent hours and hours trying to get Cavin to bed, he kept crying and screaming and nothing would help him so finally at 1030 he finally said he just needed a popsicle and since I had, had it and I would do anything I DROVE to the store and got him a popsicle and since it was the 4th and when We got home we heard fireworks, I let Cavin sit on the deck watching fireworks eating a popsicle! he did actually fall asleep soon after the fireworks where done with no fuss! it was 1120 though!

Saturday we went to the river walk here in town to try and spend some special time with Cavin and get him to be happy! so we rode his bike and played and had a great morning! then we went to lunch and home for naps. Marcus' dad got tickets from a friend at work to the Pirates baseball game! It was so much fun, we got 4th row tickets and had great time! It was Mitchell's birthday so it was a great day!

Sunday we went to church and had a great time! I had that moment where I felt, "this is where i'm supposed to be." the ward was so nice and everyone seemed so excited to meet us and so friendly. I really needed that and really need friends and so grateful this ward has so many people in our same shoes! There are probably 10 medical and dental or residents students in the ward!
That afternoon we went to Toni and Jeff's for dinner and had a great time, Cavin's cousin Jeffery's son is coming to stay for a few months so he was there and Cavin just loved playing with him! he is 3 so "a big kid" to Cavin and he likes to play with big kids!

Monday morning Cavin woke up with a black eye!! we aren't 100%sure how he got it but we are guessing he crashed on his bike sunday night and its from that but think I would have noticed that night but we didn't so who knows!!

My mom and I went to set up our internet since Friday was a holiday and couldn't do it then. so we got that all up and going.
Then we had lunch and went home to take naps but Cavin didn't want to nap and to be honest I jut didn't have enough energy to fight him anymore!! so Cavin, my mom, and I went to target to get some things for the house!
on the way home Cavin fell asleep (4:30) so I put him in our bed thinking he'd just sleep for a little bit but he slept til 630 so really messed up his schedule!! oh well. so that night was another battle to get to sleep but at least he got to sleep around 11.

Today is one week from when Marcus left with the truck and things are looking pretty good I still have some things to hang and organize and do but the main part of the house it unpacked and looking great I think!! I love our place it is so prefect close to a lot of ward members and close to the school. It is big and we have a lot of room for us to hang out and be a family!
