stella's surgery

Stella and Her first surgery hopfully the last!!
Stella has always had a large amount of thick fluid in her ears that never drains or moves so she constantly gets ear infections. We decided to get tubes in her ear since she needed a cyst removed as well we never know if this was the reason for her bad sleeping or if she just isn't the best sleeper either way we didn't want her ears to be bothering her. We went in to get it checked out at the ENT and found out that her hearing was very poor. I have always been concerned that she wasn't talking or battling as much as cabin or other children but try not to compare. Thinking she was just her own personality and doing things in her own rate. But to me it makes sense that she didn't have good hearing because we talk around her all the time and she never really reacted. She doesn't like toys that seeing or make noise and I thought that was always strange as well. When we got her checked out we found out she has 80% hearing loss. The ENT thought the tubes would make an improvement but wasn't entirely sure so wanted to do the tubes to at least do the easy fix first. So we scheduled her tubes or September 30 everything went smoothly when she came out of the anesthetic it was so terrible she just cried and was miserable not because she was in pain but because of the anesthetic.I get the same way when I wake up just feel yucky. So finally the nurse said do you think she'll be better at home and I said yes her own bed her own surroundings so they let me take her home earlier than expected. I was so happy because as soon as we got her home she just went right to sleep and took a nice long four hour nap.
The one really good thing about Stella surgery was my mom came out to visit it was such a huge blessing to have her here to help with cavin and to know that he was in good hands and well taken care of. Marcus had school of course and really needed to be at school so I didn't want him to have to worry about cabin or Stella it was just really nice to have an extra set of hands.
As soon as stella was up from her nap she was as happy as can be just normal and back to her happy Stella self!!
To me she seems that she could hear a lot more she reacted to our voices more and she was playing with toys shit never played with before he could've been a coincidence but to me it didn't seem like it. Within three days she was saying words that she had never said before it like Bob by.dat and mama. I know we made the right decision and so glad that we did it we haven't got her hearing checked yet but I'm confident it's at least improved.
